College Arts Sciences & EducationPosition Description and QualificationsThe Writing Program at FIU invites applications for a non-tenure track, Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Writing Studies. Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent in Writing, Rhetoric, and Composition Studies, and/or Professional and Technical Writing, or related field along with an exemplary teaching record. This 12-month appointment
carries a 4/4/3 teaching load and offers a competitive salary. Job duties include developing and teaching both first-year composition and upper division writing courses and contributing to the program, department, and university through service engagements. About the DepartmentThe Writing Program offers a BA track and MA track in Writing and Rhetoric along with a successful certificate in Professional and Public
writing. Our curriculum includes a range of upper-division and graduate professional, technical, and community writing courses as well as a strong first-year writing sequence. As teachers, we are heavily invested in our community, with our students frequently participating in project-based learning alongside local and international community partners.
