Anatomic Pathology Position Details Position Description The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Washington, seeks two (2) full-time Pathologists to join our Head and Neck Pathology subspecialty service as an Assistant Professor on the School of Medicine’s clinical practice track. The primary clinical service responsibility will be to sign out in the Head and Neck and Pulmonary Pathology
diagnostic services and the associated teaching of medical students, post-sophomore fellows, PA students, residents, and fellows among other learners. UW AP faculty on these services also participate in intraoperative consultation service/on-call rotations. The successful candidate is expected to interact and foster relationships with clinicians and participate in interdisciplinary conferences associated with these
services. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, (1) formal completion of a Head and Neck Pathology Fellowship program; (2) ability to participate in other subspecialty services. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a
12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. The initial period for the Professor of Clinical Practice appointment will be 3 years. Multi-year renewal of the faculty appointment is contingent upon satisfactory performance, the needs of the department, availability of resources, and in accordance with
university policy and procedure governing reappointment. This position remains open until filled. The base salary range for this position will be $20,659 to $24,727 per month ($247,908 to $296,724 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP)
