The Department of Ophthalmology/Flaum Eye Institute (FEI) at the University of Rochester invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track faculty position. We welcome candidates with a broad interest in studying ocular structure and function in health and disease. Primary appointment of the new faculty member will reside in the Department of Ophthalmology and Flaum Eye Institute, but there are ready opportunities
for secondary appointments in the Center for Visual Science (a university-wide community of >55 faculty engaged in vision research), and other University of Rochester departments (e.g., the Institute of Optics, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology and Immunology, Biomedical Genetics, etc.). The faculty hire will have access to considerable shared resources, both within the department of Ophthalmology
(shared confocal microscope, histology laboratory, ophthalmic imaging core, biostatistics) and within the Medical Center. The successful candidate will work with an active program of undergraduate and graduate students through multiple, highly-ranked, degree-granting academic programs across the University of Rochester.
