Stony Brook University invites applications for a SUNY Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Growth plus ( PRODiG Plus ) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This fellowship is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level and will commence in Fall 2026. The PRODiG Plus program is designed with two goals: (1) increasing
the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The fellow will be a part of a mentored research environment throughout the two-year long fellowship.
With successful performance and evaluation, candidates who demonstrate excellence in innovative research (with the potential for funding), equitable and inclusive teaching strategies focused on student success, and potential to participate in the undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring mission of the mechanical engineering department, will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at Stony Brook
University at the end of the fellowship.
