Reports To: Vice Chair for Research and Chair, Department of Pediatrics Position Summary: The Senior Pediatric Physician Scientist is a senior faculty role responsible for leading innovative, externally funded research programs that advance pediatric discovery and improve child health outcomes. The position includes mentoring responsibilities and, where applicable, delivery of clinical care aligned with the
department’s academic and clinical mission. Key Responsibilities: Lead an independent, extramurally funded research program and maintain a strong publication record. This position is associated with an endowed chair, providing additional resources to support research and academic excellence. Participate in patient care programs. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and contribute to institutional research growth
initiatives. Mentor and train residents, junior faculty, fellows, and research staff. Provide subspecialty clinical care (if applicable), integrating clinical insight with research priorities. Support recruitment, program development, and strategic initiatives that advance departmental research goals. Participate in departmental and institutional service, committees, and academic events.
