Description The Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (SOPH) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), is inviting applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time non-tenure, teaching track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (12-month appointment with rank commensurate with qualifications). The primary responsibilities of this position are
teaching in-person and online biostatistics courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, advising biostatistics graduate students, and supporting the department’s educational mission. The Department of Biostatistics has 20 faculty members and over 40 administrative and research staff contributing to a diverse portfolio of interdisciplinary projects and academic programs, and his home of the DATA coordinating and
Collaborative Research Unit (DATA CRU, https://www.uab.edu/datacru) specializing in the design, data management, and statistical analysis of clinical trials and cohort studies. The Department offers four graduate degrees including the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Science (MS), both founded in theory and application. The Doctor of Public Health with concentration in Biostatistics, one of only five programs
in the US, and Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) with concentration in Biostatistics provide a balance between the application of biostatistics and public health theory and leadership.
