Position summary

Research Assistant Professor: The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking A Research Assistant Professor position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yumei Feng Earley at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). The successful candidate will contribute to NIH-funded research investigating the neural mechanisms underlying hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic disorders, with

particular emphasis on salt-, diet-, and obesity-related hypertension. The Feng Earley laboratory studies the central neural circuits and molecular mechanisms that regulate blood pressure and metabolic homeostasis, using multidisciplinary approaches that integrate systems physiology, neuroscience, and molecular biology. Responsibilities: The Research Assistant Professor will lead and participate in research projects

aimed at understanding neural and cellular mechanisms of cardiometabolic disease. Key experimental approaches include: In vivo cardiovascular physiology, including conscious blood pressure recording using telemetry systems Fiber photometry and neural circuit activity monitoring Brain-targeted microinjection for gene or drug delivery Electrophysiology, preferably brain slice electrophysiology Confocal and

super-resolution microscopy Molecular and cellular studies of signaling pathways Experimental models of salt-, diet-, and obesity-induced hypertension The candidate will also contribute to experimental design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and mentoring of trainees in the laboratory.
