Position summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) program director (PD) is a faculty member who holds an administrative appointment as an academic program leader within the School of Nursing (SON) in addition to other faculty responsibilities, including teaching, scholarship, service and practice consistent with the URSON’s unification model. Responsibilities include oversight of program needs related to students, faculty, support staff,

and/or administrative matters. The PD is primarily responsible for strategic planning and the academic program in response to emerging trends in health profession education and evolving workforce needs. In collaboration with the senior associate dean for graduate education, the program director works closely with specialty directors for the adult-gero acute care, adult-gero primary care, family, pediatric primary

care/neonatal, pediatric acute care and psychiatric mental health (lifespan) assuming primary responsibility for curriculum oversight, including ongoing curriculum review/revision, curriculum innovation, and evaluation of student and faculty performance within their program. The PD supports ongoing faculty development and works closely with the associate dean to assign annual faculty workload.  The PD regularly

collaborates with admissions and student affairs leaders related to enrollment management and student support services. The PD assists the senior associate dean with recruiting faculty that support the mission of the SON. The PD consistently demonstrates MELIORA and ICARE values and fosters an inclusive, equitable, and supportive work environment.  The PD engages with academic and practice program partners to
