The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) and Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) is seeking a Director of the Institute for Cancer Genetics (ICG). The ICG emphasizes discovery cancer science, spanning mechanisms to model systems to translational applications. The ICG is located at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) campus in a component of the Irving Cancer Research

Center (ICRC) building:  https://www.vagelos.columbia.edu/departments-centers/institute-cancer-genetic The successful candidate will be expected to advance research in cancer science with a history of pioneering research accomplishments and leadership experience with a proven track record in identifying outstanding young researchers and fostering their careers. The ICG Director will report to the Director of the

HICCC and to the Dean of the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Responsibilities include the following: Research : Grow cutting edge cancer science through recruitment of future scientific leaders and enhancement of collaborative research efforts.   Faculty Support : Provide mentorship and career guidance to faculty members within the ICG and across the HICCC, facilitating their professional growth and

development. Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, ethical standards and institutional policies. Education and Training : Contribute to the education and training of students, residents, fellows and other trainees in cancer science.
