A postdoctoral research scientist position is available in the group of Dr. Ulrich Hengst in the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY. The Hengst lab is interested in compartmentalized signaling events in neurons, especially how signaling pathways originating in axons contribute to the pathogenesis and spread of
neurodegenerative disorders. The successful candidates will work on an NIH funded project investigating the cell biological consequences of Sorl1 mutations. The research will be conducted in cell culture models, potentially involving primary neurons obtained from rodent embryos.
