Position summary

At Columbia University Irving Medical Centers Department of Ophthalmology, advances in patient care are driven by scientific discovery. Our unique program is positioned with access to a large and diverse population of patients affected by rare and complex corneal diseases. For certain diseases such as keratoconus, we have built a database of about 1,000 patients and can study risk factors, timing of interventions,

and genetics to better guide treatment and surveillance. This distinctive clinical volume enables high-impact research aimed at improving long-term outcomes. As our research continues to expand, we are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to and help lead these efforts. Responsibilities: ·       Participate in clinical research activities, including support

during pediatric ophthalmology clinics (with a focus on Friday clinics) ·       Manage and maintain clinical research databases; ensure data integrity and compliance. ·       Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, amendments, and regulatory documentation. ·       Conduct patient outreach and recruitment for

ongoing and new research studies. ·       Oversee and expand clinical imaging and data repositories, including development of image libraries. ·       Perform and coordinate research related testing and imaging under the direction of principal investigators. ·       Analyze, interpret, and summarize clinical and research data

for presentations, manuscripts, and reports.
