The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University are seeking to establish a Pediatric Electrophysiology program. This Pediatric Electrophysiology Program is the only one of its kind within a 60-mile radius and will support cardiac care close to home for the 750,000 children living in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Children’s is part of a large academic medical center located on the north shore of Long Island, New York, and is approximately 55 miles east of New York City. Qualified candidates will be considered for a Medical Directorship within the Electrophysiology program, based on experience and departmental need. The successful candidate will join an outstanding team of six board-certified pediatric cardiologists who model
collaboration, teamwork, and dedication to their patients and colleagues. The current Division includes expertise in advanced cardiac imaging, fetal cardiology, adult-congenital heart disease and general pediatric cardiology. Primary Responsibilities: Work with the Division Chief, Heart Institute and hospital administration to establish a pediatric Electrophysiology Program with the support of a
well-established adult Electrophysiology Division and a congenital-trained cardiothoracic surgeon. Provide all aspects of electrophysiology services, including electrophysiology studies, RF ablation and cryoablation, and device implantation. Participate in specialized device services/clinics and provide consultation for patients at risk for channelopathy, sudden death, and autonomic dysfunction. Care for those with
arrhythmias starting in fetal life through adulthood. Perform inpatient arrhythmia consultations at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in Suffolk County.
