The Department of Pediatrics at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is seeking Clinical Instructor/Nurse Practitioner faculty for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.  The position will be full-time, faculty, academic at the Clinical Instructor level. Responsibilities: The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Stony Brook Children’s

in collaboration with an Attending Physician. Other responsibilities include: will provide education to staff nurses; will confer with patient(s) to obtain accurate information for records, explain procedures, ally fears and elicit cooperation and engagement in plan of care; will ensure execution of provider established plan of care including but not limited to follow up visits, specialist consultations, diagnostic

lab, imaging studies and/or procedures; will contribute to patient care through patient and family education, population health management, encouraging patient self-management, distributing resource literature and community service recommendations and referrals as needed; will maintain liaison with physicians and practice administration to ensure efficient and effective patient care services.
