Position summary

The Department of Neurology in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is undergoing a period of significant growth. We are seeking faculty candidates to join our outstanding group of dedicated academic neurologists in the Division of Epilepsy. Stony Brook is a 624-bed tertiary care facility with a catchment area of 1.5 M residents, Level IV adult and pediatric Epilepsy Center, 20-bed

Neurological Critical Care Unit (NCCU), and Level I Trauma Center in Suffolk County. Our faculty leads several nationally recognized, highly regarded subspecialty centers in Neuromuscular Medicine, Neuroimmunology, Epilepsy, and Movement Disorders in the outpatient setting. Ancillary services include MRI/PET, FMRI capabilities, EEG, EMG/ NCV, and infusion therapy.  Responsibilities include: Coverage of the

inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).  Favorable weekend and overnight call responsibility shared amongst practice members. Supervision of neurology residents, Advanced Practice Providers, and students. Contributing to the growth of our existing outpatient epilepsy practice.  Candidates will also have the opportunity to develop innovative clinical, educational, or research programs to suit their unique

academic interests. This represents an exciting opportunity for a neurologist interested in building an outpatient practice at the region's premier academic medical center. Faculty can also take advantage of an exceptional retirement plan offered through the SUNY403(b) and NYS Deferred Compensation Plans.
