The Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University is one of the premier biostatistics departments in the nation. The Department has more than 30 faculty (including 13 ASA Fellows) and 20+ biostatistician research staff members. The Department boasts strong research profiles in clinical trial design, survival analysis, nonparametric and semi-parametric statistics, precision medicine, causal inference, machine

learning, functional data analysis, imaging statistics, statistical genetics, statistical methods for mental health, environmental health, aging and many other fields.  The Department has built strong collaborative connections within the Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH), a top-ranked school nationally, and in the world-class Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).  The Department has

thriving education programs leading to M.S., M.P.H., Ph.D., and Dr.P.H. degrees. The Department is at the forefront of advancing health data science in close collaboration with the Columbia Data Science Institute. MSPH is a globally renowned in public health research and education and one of the largest recipients of sponsored research for all schools of public health in the nation. It has six world class departments

with over 500 fulltime faculty members, of whom almost 40 percent hold joint or interdisciplinary appointments with other departments of the university, as well as a large network of adjunct faculty.
