Clinical
responsibilities include providing genetic counseling services to patients and family members in the multiple adult specialty genetics clinics in CPMG and Department of Medicine. In this role, the genetic counselor will conduct intake screening, risk assessment, explain nature and scope of testing procedures; act as a liaison between the clinical department and the molecular diagnostic laboratories; communicate
results to patients and families and write summary reports; and develop and present in-service education to physicians and other health care providers to increase genetic testing fluency among providers of the Medical Center.
