Position summary

The Division of Neonatology is seeking a per-diem Instructor of Clinical. Your duties will be within the Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics, and include patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a mid-level provider under the supervision of an Attending Neonatologist. Night and weekend work are expected, and you will fit into the mid-level provider call schedule, including

responsibilities on the intensive care teams, step-down team and Newborn Nursery. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Works to care for neonates autonomously with support from an Attending Neonatologist. Obtain medical history and performs comprehensive physical examinations. Completes H&Ps, daily patient evaluations and assessments.  Documents pertinent findings in patient record. Orders and interprets

radiographic, laboratory and other diagnostic clinical data as needed. Instructs and counsels patients and families in collaboration with other health team members. Performs routine circumcisions.  With opportunity to learn more advanced NICU procedures as desired. Delivery room stabilization and management of neonates with emphasis on full term infants. Writes medication and other medical orders. Coordinate and

management of discharges from the birth center/newborn nursery. Coordinate and management transfers from NICU to birth center/newborn nursery. Provide education for NP and PA students, along with residents on rotation in the NICU. Identifies and participates in research and quality assurance activities, as needed.
