Children’s Hospitals are recruiting for faculty positions at the ranks of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland
campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care. UCSF is a national leader in pediatric care, offering comprehensive, cutting-edge care and impactful research in these subspecialties. A primary responsibility for these positions is to serve as nighttime attendings, providing front-line coverage for patient concerns and admissions. Night shifts,
including some weekends on a rotating basis, will have on-call support from Hematology-Oncology/BMT fellows and attending physicians (in person or by phone, depending on patient acuity). Common acute issues include transfusion needs, sepsis, anaphylaxis, and pain management. Faculty will be fully integrated into the inpatient teams, working alongside advanced practice providers (APPs), fellows, and attending
physicians. Additionally, there will be opportunities to perform procedures (e.g., lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies) and contribute to daytime care on a rotating basis.
