The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for the position of Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month faculty appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. The DPT program is delivered on both the Stony Brook University East Campus-Health Sciences Center and on the Southampton
Campus. The Director of Clinical Education in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program reports to the Executive Director of Clinical Education and the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. The Director of Clinical Education will work with the Executive Director of Clinical Education, and in conjunction with the clinical education team to administer the clinical education program across the two campuses.
Responsibilities include working together with the clinical education team, acting as a liaison between the program and clinical education sites, initiating and facilitating ongoing development of clinical education sites and clinical faculty, monitoring and refining the clinical education components of the curriculum, managing student placements, supervision and assessment of students during clinical education,
visiting clinical sites, assisting with accreditation efforts, and teaching, service, and scholarship to the program at both campuses. Stony Brook University is located on Long Island and is part of the State University of New York system. The School of Health Professions offers a three-year Doctor of Physical Therapy degree that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
