Position overview Position title: Pre-six Creative Technologies Lecturer Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $8,872-$12,650 (based on salary points 1-13). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year. Percent time: Variable, based on the course load assigned. Anticipated start: Appointments are contingent on

the hiring unit’s instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2026 through fall quarter 2027. Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment. Position duration: Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter,

and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session. Position description The Creative Technologies program at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach lower and/or upper division undergraduate courses, either during the academic year or Summer Session. Possible course

topics include: practices and tools of digital arts and design (including sound design, intermedia design, web design, and animation); media studies, including histories and cultures of media; justice-, decolonization-, anti-racist, transgender and feminist approaches to arts, design and media technology; histories and cultures of arts and design technology; interdisciplinary arts and design practices; creative

coding; sound processing, sound production, and sound synthesis; playable media studies and game design; three-dimensional design; immersive reality; machine creativity and machine learning; and technologies of real-time interaction and performance. Creative Technologies (CT) is an online interdisciplinary arts and design major, with contributions from faculty across the Arts Division. Its curriculum synthesizes
