The criticalists work collaboratively with 10 emergency doctors, 12 ECC residents, 2 specialty ECC interns, and 12 rotating interns. As one of the busiest academic hospitals in the country, the
University of Florida manages approximately 13,000 emergency room (ER) cases annually, offering a diverse caseload. The service is supported by more than 60 veterinary technicians, including veterinary technician specialists in ECC, who provide exceptional patient care in the ER, ICU, and progressive care ward.This position is part of a progressive, collaborative, and well-supported ECC service. The primary work
location is the VECCS Level I and AAHA-accredited hospital in Gainesville, with about 4-5 shifts assigned to the University of Florida PETS hospital in Ocala, located approximately 45 minutes south of Gainesville.
