Position description The UCR School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of Medicine. The incumbent will report to the Vice Chancellor and Dean, UCR School of Medicine, and will be responsible for the overall management of the department including, strategic planning, financial and
budgetary planning and accountability, performance improvement, resource allocation, program development, recruitment and development of faculty, and for the management of the educational, clinical and research activities of the Department. This position will also provide leadership and direction in meeting the mission of the School of Medicine. The Department of Medicine fully aligns with and embraces the SOM
mission to train a diverse physician workforce and to deliver clinical and research programs that serve the medically underserved in the Inland Southern California region. Faculty play important roles in the undergraduate medical education program and provide role models and training for students considering the specialty.
