must have a MD/DO and Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery Job Description: The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville is seeking applications for a full-time academic breast surgeon at the non-tenure accruing level of clinical assistant, associate, or professor to join the faculty. The level of academic appointment will be dependent on qualifications.
This individual will have a unique opportunity to join a NAPBC accredited academic breast center whose focus is on the multidisciplinary approach to breast care. The individual will work alongside members of our multidisciplinary breast team who are dedicated to providing our patients with cutting-edge breast cancer care. We have a comprehensive multidisciplinary breast team that meets weekly, and is comprised of
dedicated fellowship trained breast radiologists, pathologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, as well as lymphedema certified physical therapists. Our breast surgery team is supported with a dedicated breast cancer navigator and advanced practice provider. Major responsibilities include building a robust clinical practice, delivering high quality, evidence-based
surgical care, and actively mentoring general surgery residents and medical students, as well as contributing to a robust research mission. No emergency general surgery call is required.
