THE OPPORTUNITY Columbia University's Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Department of Pediatrics invites applications for the position of Director of the recently-announced Garrett Isaac Neubauer Center for Research and Innovation in Pediatric Cardiology at the rank of Assistant or Full Professor. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working

together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The Columbia Pediatric Cardiology clinical program is one of the largest in the nation, with over 50 faculty members and an expanding clinical fellowship program which includes advanced fellowships in cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology, cardiac intensive care, pulmonary hypertension, and heart failure/heart

transplantation.  The division enjoys a strong partnership with congenital heart surgery, led by Dr. Emile Bacha.  As a combined heart center, these two teams lead inspiring academic and clinical innovations.  The Columbia cardiology program is historically notable for performing the first successful heart transplant in a child, for developing the first comprehensive program dedicated to pediatric

pulmonary hypertension, and for completing the first “Domino” heart-valve transplant.  Columbia Pediatric Cardiology is one of nine core sites for the Pediatric Heart Network (PHN), and Columbia cardiology faculty and fellows enjoy research and training opportunities through our membership in PHN.  Columbia is also the data coordinating center and administrative core of the Congenital Cardiac Research

Collaborative (CCRC), a collaboration across 16 cardiac programs in North America advancing research and quality improvement in high-risk CHD populations.  The division is engaged in a number of key national and international quality improvement and research initiatives including:  PC 4 , PAC3, NPC-QIC, PHTS, ACTION, CCRC, C3PO, CNOC,
