Position description The Department of Medicine at University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff and student body. We are actively recruiting to fill the tenured position of Chief, Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine. Divisional faculty receive over $14 million in grant

funding each year, including $10 million from the NIH. The Division has innovative basic, translational, and computational research programs in many areas of population-based and disease-specific genomics, development of widely used analytic tools, and applications of machine learning to genomic data. We are seeking a visionary leader who can sustain and grow all facets of the Division’s missions as well as foster a

collaborative and collegial work environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Leadership and Vision Provide visionary leadership to the Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine, setting strategic goals and objectives that align with the mission and vision of UC San Diego. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, excellence, and interdisciplinary collaboration. 2. Research and Innovation Drive

cutting-edge research in human genomics (modern population genetics) and precision medicine, securing external funding from federal, state, and private sources. Promote the translation of research findings into clinical practice by partnering with clinical colleagues. Facilitate collaborations with other divisions, departments, and institutions to advance the fields of genomics and precision medicine. 3. Education
