Salary is normally based on an annual full-time salary at Salary Point 6 of $85,898; see Table 19 for the full range of salary points. Position description The School of Engineering anticipates hiring Associate Instructors for lower- and upper-division courses for Academic Year 2026-2027 in the following disciplines: Bioengineering Engineering Fundamentals (courses may include the following: Introduction to Materials, Statics and Dynamics, Circuit Theory, Thermodynamics,

Heat Transfer, Strength of Materials, Spatial Analysis, Information Systems, etc.) Under supervision of a faculty member, the Associate Instructor will be responsible for leading instruction of a course. Additional duties may include grading, leading discussion sections when appropriate and holding office hours. The University of California Associate Instructors are represented by the UAW-AFL-CIO. Basic qualifications One year of Teaching Assistant experience. Master's degree in the subject area or a related field or Advanced to Candidacy for the Ph.D. Maintenance of a qualifying grade point average Academically eligible to hold the appointment (as outlined in the Graduate Policies and Procedures Handbook) Must be a registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence (registered for 12 units per term
