of Washington along with the Seattle Children’s Research Institute Center for Child Health, Behavior & Development invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding, on the faculty-scientist track. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Anticipated
start date is Summer/Fall 2026. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date is Summer/Fall 2026 The candidate is expected to sustain a funded
research program at Seattle Children’s and the University of Washington in the area of pediatric mental health care and services access. The candidate is also expected to provide direction and leadership in the Healthy Lives Institute, a collaboration between the UW Department of Pediatrics and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to our department’s teaching and
mentoring mission, and should have extensive experience in teaching and mentorship of trainees. This position will be expected to establish and maintain a research program focused on identifying barriers to and evaluating strategies for better access to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental and behavioral disorders for children who are under-served. These duties, and direction and leadership expectations in
the Healthy Lives Institute, will require community-centered engagement and research approaches. The candidate will be expected to practice clinically, including outpatient pediatric clinic supervision, in resident clinic or faculty practice.
