Full-time, Tenure trackApplication Deadline: Open Until FillePriority Screening: April 10, 2026Position Summary:Full-time appointment for Assistant Professor of Veterinary Science beginning August 2026. This position reports to the Department Chair of Veterinary Technology and the Veterinary Technology Program Coordinator. The candidate will be responsible to teach a broad range of veterinary science courses offered

in the program. The faculty member may be required to teach day or evening courses and computer skills are required. Post-graduate or post professional certifications and training preferred. Responsibilities:Use and develop a variety of effective teaching and assessment methods to engage student interest and address a variety of learning styles.Teach a minimum of fifteen credits per semester.Integrate appropriate

instructional technology into the classroom to enhance student learning.Evaluate student work using clear criteria relevant to the course content and learning outcomes.Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (i.e., grades, syllabi, enrollment reports).Assess student learning and develop plans to improve student learning based on student outcomes.Maintain four office hours per

weekInvolvement in curriculum development; course assessment and development of online classesAdvisor to veterinary technology clubParticipate in student advisementActively participate on college committeesPerform various departmental duties throughout the semester. Qualifications:Must be a licensed Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician in New York State, with a current and active license.Veterinarians must hold a

DVM or VMD degree.Veterinary Technicians must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in diverse clinical practice required.Prior teaching experience preferred.Familiarity with Brightspace or similar learning management systems is a plus.AndCommitment to community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for

culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests.Salary:An initial starting annual salary of $56,000 – 69,500 will be commensurate with
