University (NDSU) invites applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in the area of sport management to begin in the Spring of 2027 (January 2, 2027 start date) or Fall of 2027 (August 16, 2027 start date). This position’s workload is 40 percent teaching (12 credits/year), 40 percent research, 10 percent advising, and 10 percent service. Responsibilities will include supporting NDSU’s
land-grant mission of teaching, research, and service.The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Sport Management program; participate in academic advising of both undergraduate and graduate students; serve on graduate student committees; establish an independent line of research and publish in scholarly journals; seek external funding to support scholarly activity; be active in
professional organizations; and provide service to the department, college, university, and community; work effectively with colleagues across disciplines and/or community organizations; contribute to department governance and foster a collaborative community across the HNES department.The Sport Management program is an active program of approximately 170 students with a stable student organization. The program
prioritizes experiential learning through national trips and active learning in the classroom.
