Boston as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sport Leadership and Administration to begin September 1, 2026. Of particular interest are candidates with scholarly expertise in equity in sport and whose teaching, research, and service will advance our college mission and the commitments outlined in our university strategic plan (page 11). Candidates’ research agendas should focus on one or both of the following
areas: 1) Opportunities and barriers to equity in sport leadership and administration; or 2) the role of sport in the pursuit of social change. Preferred qualifications include one or more of the following: 1) scholarship that incorporates critical theoretical lenses to advance equity and social justice in sport through their scholarship, teaching, and service; 2) experience with culturally sustaining and inclusive
approaches to teaching and learning; 3) involvement in collaborative, interdisciplinary and community-engaged scholarship; 4) a record or promise of research productivity. The position also offers opportunities for collaboration with UMass Boston’s Collaborative of Asian American, Native American, Latino, and African American Institutes (CANALA - UMass Boston). with socio-culturally diverse populations and interest
in collaborative interdisciplinary research.
