full-time assistant professor position to begin August 28, 2027. The department, which is housed in the college's Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, has a multidisciplinary faculty and supports degrees in Sociology, Anthropology, Religion, and New York City Studies. The school serves all Baruch students in its introductory courses, many minors in its upper-level courses, and an increasing number of majors. Baruch
College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to its mission of educating one of the most diverse student bodies in the United States. The successful candidate will have a strong scholarly research agenda and demonstrate preparation to teach in department courses that include introduction to sociology, upper-level courses in gender and sexuality studies, and other courses as needed in the
department’s curriculum. Evidence of ability to engage students in experiential, community-oriented learning and in New York City-based learning is desired. QUALIFICATIONS Doctoral degree in sociology with specialization in gender and/or sexuality. Demonstrated successful experience teaching courses in sociology at the college level.
