Position SummaryThe Department of Philosophy at the University of New Mexico is pleased to invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Native American
and Indigenous Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is August 10, 2026. Customary undergraduate and graduate teaching duties, including thesis supervision, and non-teaching duties in Philosophy. We are seeking an outstanding scholar with a research specialization in Native American and Indigenous Philosophy (with “Indigenous” here covering any and all indigenous communities and
cultures in the Americas), who is able to teach courses that contribute to the Department’s existing undergraduate curriculum, who is able both to teach courses that contribute to the Department’s graduate curriculum as well as to provide mentoring and supervision for graduate students, who will enjoy working in a philosophically pluralistic department, and who has a demonstrated commitment to cultivate an
understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
