Position description We seek someone broadly trained in, or whose artistic practice contributes to the field of Chicana/o/x studies with outstanding teaching experience in higher education. The candidate must be able to teach a wide range of courses that include “Introduction to Chicana/o/x Studies” (a course examining the past and current conditions of Chicana/o/x
communities), or “Chicana, Chicano, Chicanx Culture” (an interdisciplinary survey of Chicana/o/x cultural representation in the 20th century) paired with courses of interest ranging from Chicana/o/x cultural production, social movements, history, feminist theory, education, health, to methods. The Assistant Professor of Teaching position is a full-time Academic Senate faculty position with potential for security of
employment akin to tenure. The successful candidate will have a record of high-quality teaching evaluations and a commitment to the growing field of Chicana/o/x and Latinx Studies. We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate the potential to serve and mentor our exceptional and diverse student population. The teaching load is six courses per year, which will offer our majors and minors access to
