Department of Sociology at Pomona College invites applications for an Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2027. Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach sociology electives currently not offered by the Claremont Colleges. Candidates are expected to rotate into teaching introduction to sociology and/or the senior seminar. We also welcome candidates who can teach
qualitative research methods and/or classical sociological theory. The teaching load is two courses per semester. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to maintain an active, high-quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching.
