Long Field House Pay Grade:Academic Job Description:College of Human Sciences & EducationSchool of KinesiologyAssistant Professor of Research The primary tasks of a Professor of Research will be to operate the equipment to support faculty who require measurement of metabolic and bioenergic changes,

and mitochondrial function. This new faculty member will also be tasked to start his/her own project line thus contributing to an expansion of research expenditures in the School of Kinesiology. The Assistant Professor of Research will also be tasked to mentor and train students, post-docs, and faculty in the measurements used to determine metabolic changes. 40% Research project management: As PI/CO-PI on funded

grants, the Assistant Professor of Research is expected to perform all duties described in these projects, including but not limited to preparing progress and final reports, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, attending grant related meetings, preparing publications, reports, and presentations to enhance the School’s local and national recognition. 20% Research mentoring: The Assistant

Professor of Research is expected to mentor other members of the grant team, including other School of Kinesiology staff, graduate and/or undergraduate students. 20% External project development: Prepare materials & proposals for submission to granting agencies and foundations for external funding to advance the School of Kinesiology capacity and levels of impact within the University, the Louisiana community, and

the nation. 15% Research Dissemination: Disseminate knowledge through reports, articles, white papers and presentations at the local, state and national symposia and/or conferences, and assist the School of Kinesiology to build capacity to develop grants. 5% Other duties assigned.Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Kinesiology or related field.
