The Opportunity This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pediatrics is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation’s foremost academic health science center’s working together with one of the nation’s premier health systems, New York-Presbyterian Hospital. candidate must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and will have completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric heart failure/transplantation. The PACCT team consists of six heart failure/transplant cardiologists directed by Dr. Marc Richmond, four cardiac surgeons led by Dr. Emile Bacha, and a multi-disciplinary team that includes five nurse practitioners, two pharmacists, two social workers and nurse

transplant and VAD coordinators. Begun in 1984, our transplant program has performed transplant in over 650 patients and currently averages approximately 20-25 transplants annually. In addition, we have an established MCS program led by Dr. Sabrina Law, offering the full complement of temporary and durable devices including Syncardia Total Artificial Heart. The program has recently provided MCS to approximately 15-20

patients per year, including bridge-to-transplant in complex CHD patients and destination VAD therapy.  A close relationship with our surgical colleagues and adult VAD specialists offers a unique experience for novel approaches to VAD use.  Our program consists of an established cardio-genetics clinic under the supervision of Dr. Teresa Lee, as well as multidisciplinary clinic for cardio-oncology, advanced
