Osteopathic Medicine 1140138 Position Summary The Department of Physiology and the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University invites applications for a tenure-system faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek outstanding candidates investigating the role of the peripheral nervous system in the regulation of physiology and disease. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to,
neuroimmunology, organ-brain communication, neuroendocrinology, autonomic neuroscience, sensory biology, neurovascular interactions, neuro-metabolic regulation, and neural mechanisms underlying chronic disease. We are particularly interested in investigators whose research addresses how peripheral neural circuits interact with other organ systems to maintain homeostasis or contribute to pathology. Successful
candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program, contribute to yeaching mission of the department and college including graduate, undergraduate, and professional education and participate in departmental and university service activities. Candidates will have the opportunity to join the Department of Physiology and participate in robust interdisciplinary graduate
training programs, including the Neuroscience, the Molecular Cellular Integrated Physiology, and the Biomedical Sciences Programs.
