Assistant Professor of NursingPurpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: The Assistant Professor of Nursing is responsible for implementation of the nursing program curriculum consonant with both educational and nursing best practices. The incumbent is required to function as a mentor to his or students and to serve as a professional practice role model. Under the general direction of Director of

Nursingresponsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to callback as deemed necessary.Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Provide assigned students with instruction that exemplifies best educational and nursing practices. This instruction must adhere to program curriculum for the course(s) taught. Mentor students in their professional growth so they are prepared for entry into the

nursing profession.Be a role model for students to enhance their sense of accountability, responsibility, professionalism, and caring.Maintain currency in the nursing profession through professional development and continuous self-assessment.Participate in the ongoing evaluation, assessment, and improvement of the nursing program curriculum to ensure the achievement of optimum program outcomes.Perform related

accountabilities and responsibilities as required or directed. physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).Environmental Conditions:Work involves intermittent to occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve some contact with potentially hazardous or harmful elements in providing administrative or support services.
