supporting lecture courses such as lighting, cultural influences in design, design theory, environmental behavior, and design history. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain a level of scholarship acceptable to the university standards, while contributing to service within the Unit, School, College, and University. **Full position description is available upon request. ** Key Job Responsibilities:

Department: The mission of the Interior Architecture (IA) program is to provide a learning environment that encourages the development of competent interior design professionals at the Bachelor of Fine Arts level (BFA). The focus is on the ability to design quality interior environments that contribute to the well-being and safety of individuals and groups along with incorporating a concern for the environmental

well-being of the earth, including sustainable design. The visionary, conceptual, exploratory and analytical abilities of students in the Interior Architecture program are developed through studies in liberal arts and sciences and professional design preparation. The purpose is to graduate professional interior designers who are able to synthesize knowledge and who are able to creatively solve problems for a wide

range of physical interior environments, including residential and commercial, and for a diverse group of users. The Interior Architecture program ensures that graduates are competent in designing at different environmental scales from single rooms to integrated multi-story facilities. The IA program is one of five programs in the School of Design and Communication, housed in the College of Fine Arts and

Communication. The IA program is both CIDA and NASAD accredited. Compensation & Benefits: The Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture is a full-time , salaried , exempt , academic year (9-month) position. Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $55,000 - $58,000 commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
