Field of Specialization We welcome applications from candidates specializing in, but not limited to: American History African American History African History Latin American and Caribbean History Applicants whose research and teaching engage questions of race, diaspora, social justice, public history, digital humanities, or transnational and comparative perspectives are especially encouraged to apply, as
are those who bring interdisciplinary or innovative methodological approaches. Specifically, the Assistant Professor Will: Teach Teach undergraduate courses in History and within the University’s core curriculum. Develop and implement innovative curricula that reflect current trends and pedagogical best practices. Utilize digital tools and technology-enhanced learning methodologies to support student success.
Demonstrate excellence in communication and interpersonal engagement with students and colleagues. Advise and mentor undergraduate students pursuing careers and graduate studies in history and related fields. Maintain a standard teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester, typically equivalent to four 3-credit courses per semester, with opportunities for course development related to the candidate’s
expertise. Continue an Active Research Agenda Maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication. Engage in professional activities including conference presentations, publications, and collaborative scholarly initiatives. Foster student research, critical inquiry, and professional development.
