Assistant Professor of EnglishApply now DescriptionThe Department of English at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin Fall of academic year 2027-28. We seek an expert in one or more of the following areas of English literary and intellectual history, 1660-1900: the late Renaissance; the Enlightenment; the Age of Revolution; classical liberalism;
abolitionism; Romanticism; Realism. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service to the department, college, and university. Teaching courses in the university's core curriculum is reqquired. QualificationsApplicants must have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D. by time of appointment, or expect to obtain the Ph.D. within a year of joining the faculty as Instructor.
