invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in creative writing at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2027. The subfields for this position are poetry and fiction, with a primary specialization in poetry and a secondary specialization in fiction. Successful candidates will have a strong record of publication and teaching in both subfields. The teaching load is two courses per
semester. Bowdoin is particularly interested in candidates dedicated to undergraduate teaching and with a promise of long-term successful creative work. An MFA, Ph.D., or equivalent terminal graduate degree in creative writing or a related discipline is expected by the date of the appointment.
