Faculty will carry an initial three-three
course load. The department has critical needs in Taxation, Managerial/Cost, and Governmental/Non-for-Profit Accounting. Candidates must be prepared to teach in at least two of these areas. Candidates must also be capable of teaching core lower-division courses in Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. A successful candidate will teach courses in the BBA in Accounting program and may also contribute to
graduate, associate-level, or certificate programs in Accounting. UAA is a comprehensive public institution with a main campus in Anchorage, supported by community campuses and extension sites across Alaska. The College of Business and Public Policy is accredited by AACSB and offers BBA degrees in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Business and Data Analytics, and Marketing, along with MBA, MPA, and MPP
programs, associate degrees, and occupational endorsement certificates in Accounting and related fields. The college also houses an experimental economics lab and several research and economic development centers focused on international business, small business, and regional economic policy. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and students from a wide
range of backgrounds, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience or interest in online instruction, as well as professional certification (such as CPA or CMA) or relevant industry experience, is highly desirable.
