Black Hills State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Business Analytics/Operations Management beginning August 2026. Black Hills State University is a teaching-focused institution located in Spearfish, South Dakota, in the scenic Black Hills region. The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International — a distinction held by fewer than 6% of business schools
worldwide — and serves approximately 400 students across campuses in Spearfish and Rapid City. The college offers undergraduate programs in Business Administration with specializations including accounting, agribusiness/ranch management, business analytics, economics, finance, entrepreneurial studies, health services administration, human resource management, management, and marketing, as well as an MBA in applied
management. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, student-centered faculty committed to teaching excellence, applied scholarship, and community engagement. Our faculty combine scholarly engagement with commitment to student success, connect classroom instruction to professional practice, and involve students in applied or experiential learning. Effective communication, collaboration, and enthusiasm for

The successful candidate will serve as a leader in the college’s recently approved Business Analytics specialization, contributing to curriculum development, program coordination, and the continued growth of analytics instruction within the College of Business. Teaching responsibilities will include quantitative and analytics courses at the undergraduate level, with
opportunities to contribute to the MBA program. DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS: •Teach quantitative and analytics courses at the undergraduate and MBA level, including courses in our new Business Analytics Specialization, Business Statistics, Business Statistics II, Quantitative Decision Analysis, Analytics, Production/Operations Management, and MBA Quantitative Methods.•The standard teaching load is four courses per
