Oncology Hospitalist (Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center) The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) are inviting applications from highly qualified junior and/or midcareer physician at the Assistant Professor level for the Oncology Hospitalist Service at
New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia campus. The faculty of the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine are also members of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) which is one of only 57 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States, with more than 260 members across six schools at Columbia University with more than $35 million in
National Cancer Institute funding and over $120 million in cancer grants. The candidate will serve as the attending physician for the inpatient Solid Tumor service each year on alternating one-week blocks (7 days on / 7 days off) with additional sick call backup coverage. An alternative schedule may be considered. The candidate will directly oversee a team of physician assistants and/or house staff in providing
high quality subspecialized and step-down level care for a complex and diverse patient population. No “first-call” responsibilities. The candidate will complete all inpatient documentation and billing in a timely fashion. The candidate will have clinical, academic, and teaching responsibilities to support their career development. The candidate will closely collaborate with outpatient teams to maintain the highest
quality care and patient safety during patient transitions and discharges.
