The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a Director for a new Comprehensive Children’s Pain Center. This role includes an academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level and the opportunity to lead and grow a comprehensive, interdisciplinary pediatric pain program. Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York (MSCHONY) has a robust inpatient Pediatric

Pain Program and is now expanding to a comprehensive outpatient center. The Director will build an integrated continuum of care, from preoperative preparation through hospitalization, rehabilitation, and transition to home. The Director will establish and lead the outpatient program, providing care for children with acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions. Responsibilities include developing preoperative

screening and rehabilitation pathways and overseeing a Transitional Pain Program. The role involves close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including psychologists, physical therapists, and pediatric subspecialists. Applicants may come from pediatric anesthesiology or other relevant pediatric subspecialties with pain expertise. Clinical activities may include outpatient care, inpatient consultation, and

interventional pain management, depending on experience. The position includes opportunities to grow research and academic initiatives, supported by established departmental resources and collaborations with inpatient and adult pain services.          The successful candidate will:          Establish and lead a comprehensive, interdisciplinary outpatient Pediatric

Pain Center, expanding existing inpatient pediatric pain services into a fully integrated continuum of care          Define the clinical vision, scope, and operation model for care delivery spanning preoperative evaluation, hospitalization, rehabilitation and transition to home.
