Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor of Medical Sciences (in Medicine)-Aging and the Thymus Columbia University’s Department of Medicine and the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Medical Sciences (in Medicine), as part of a joint collaboration between the CCTI and the
Burch-Lodge Center for Human Longevity (CHL). The successful candidate will be expected to lead an independent research program related to the immune system and aging. Possible (but not exclusive) areas of focus include the role of thymic stromal cells, thymocytes and their interactions in aging and age-related pathologies. The successful candidate will also collaborate with CCTI investigators in approaches to
induction of transplantation tolerance. Further, they will participate in the growth of the CHL, ensuring a cohesive and growing program which aligns with the objectives and mission of the Center, with strong collaborative ties in the CCTI. The duties of this position include: Research/Education/Administrative: 90/5/5%. Candidates should have strong research training and, commensurate with rank, leadership
experience in biomedical research and a record of scholarly achievement. Successful candidates will have demonstrated the ability to identify critical molecular interactions in thymic and T cell development and selection.
