The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University is seeking a Director of the Cancer Cytogenetics Laboratory. This role will be appointed either as a Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. The position will provide clinical, scientific, and operational leadership for a comprehensive academic cancer cytogenetics program while advancing integrated genomic diagnostics across oncology and

constitutional testing. Working closely with the Director of Cytogenetics, the Vice Chair of the Division of Genomic Pathology, laboratory leadership, and multidisciplinary clinical teams, this individual will oversee complex test interpretation, lead assay development and implementation, ensure regulatory excellence, and expand precision medicine services. laboratory leader with expertise in cytogenetics and molecular genomics, a collaborative leadership style, and a strong commitment to innovation, education, quality, and translational research in an academic medical center.     Job Function :   Direct the clinical operations of the Cancer Cytogenetics Laboratory within a high-volume academic medical center. Provide authoritative interpretation and

sign-out of complex cytogenetic, cytogenomic, and molecular genetic testing, including chromosome analysis, FISH, copy number analysis, genomic microarray, sequencing, and other genomic assays for both oncology and constitutional disorders. Partner with the Director of Cytogenetics and Director of the Personalized Genomics Medicine Laboratory to ensure excellence across the full spectrum of constitutional and cancer

cytogenetic testing.
