Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, without tenure due to funding (WOT), with an anticipated start date of September 2026. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. We seek applicants who
demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research focused on HIV and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Scholarship, teaching, and clinical service will be considered integral to this position. Clinical work will be both inpatient and outpatient and will focus on outpatient
care in the General Pulmonary clinics, as well as inpatient service based on division and section needs at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) or Harborview Medical Center (HMC). Teaching responsibilities will include clinical bedside teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. This appointment would align with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30), where faculty are paid for 11 months
of service over a 12-month period. Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments; associate professors hold indefinite appointments. The base salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor rank will be $19,250–$20,334 per month and at the Associate Professor rank will be $23,250–$25,068 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor
prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits
