Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital have an outstanding opportunity for a full-time pediatric orthopaedic surgeon to specialize in pediatric sports medicine. This position includes an academic appointment in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at the University of Washington. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor or Associate

Professor rank, dependent upon qualifications and both without tenure (WOT). The majority of School of Medicine faculty hired in the professorial track are hired under the WOT designation. Faculty appointed WOT have the same rights, responsibilities and obligations as tenure-track and tenured faculty members at those ranks. However, faculty appointed as WOT do not hold tenure because all or part of their annual

University-administered salary is derived from sources other than regularly appropriated stated funds. The current sports program at Seattle Children's Hospital includes 2 surgeons, 7 non-operative sports physicians, 3 dedicated sports advanced-practice providers, 6 in-clinic athletic trainers, 26 athletic trainers staffing local high schools and dedicated sports research staff. This new recruit will work with the

current team to further develop the clinical, programmatic and academic vision for the sports program, which has been designated a growth area for Seattle Children's Hospital. Other responsibilities will include resident and fellow education, medical student teaching, and the development of a busy clinical practice. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to develop a robust program in clinical, education

methodologies or basic science research. The successful candidate will be expected to provide excellent clinical care encompassing a broad spectrum of pediatric sports medicine surgery with a high degree of professionalism Salary Overall compensation is a combination of base salary plus other compensation. The base salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor (WOT) rank is $30,834 - $34,167 per month
